Alamut Castle means eagle's nest. it is one of the historical castles of Iran. Many parts of it have been destroyed and traces of it remain. 

Its height is 2163 meters above sea level and its area is about 20,000 square meters and it is in the shape of a camel. 

In 1090 AD, Alamut Castle, a mountain castle, was captured by Hassan Sabah. it was the residence of Hasan Sabah, the founder of the Ismailis. it is said that Hassan Sabah resided there for 35 years and led his followers.
